My name is Phillip Langat, and I serve as a religious leader in my community. However, my role extends beyond the confines of the church walls—I am also deeply involved as a community health educator during KAF health clinics. In this capacity, I am entrusted with sensitizing individuals and groups about various important health topics.
At these health forums, I take on the responsibility of educating the community about various preventive measures and health promotion strategies. This includes raising awareness about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PreP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (Pep) to prevent HIV transmission, emphasizing the importance of condom use, providing information about HIV testing and counseling services, discussing different modern family planning methods, and advocating for cancer (breast, cervical and prostate) screening. Through these efforts, we ensure that community members are knowledgeable enough to decide on the services they aim to receive.
